After Flight 93 was hijacked, and the pilot and crew were moved out of the cockpit and into the passenger area of the plane, Tom Burnett called his wife to report the situation. After she informed him of the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center, he replied that the hijackers were
"talking about crashing this plane ... Oh my God. It's a suicide mission." He ended his call by saying,
"Don't worry, we're going to do something."
This phone call is followed by several others culminating in the phone call where Todd Beamer's famous, 'Let's Roll' comment was overheard by Lisa Jefferson at 9:55 AM.
