I align with the political 'Far Right.' I am one of those nut jobs your President warned you about.

Political Spectrum Quiz
However, as most of us know, the political spectrum as illustrated above is a misnomer. It should look more like this:
Some notes:
- Obama is the most radical leftist President America has known.
- Reagan is placed where he was philosophically at the end of his Presidency. He started off with a much more aggressive stance on the size and role of Government (i.e. he ran on eliminating the Dept. of Education).
- Notice the little difference between Johnny Mac and Billy Jeff.
- Ron Paul is an isolationist who wants to repeal the Federal Reserve. In my limited study on currently serving politicians, he would be the most 'anarchist' candidate around.
- I believe I align closely with where Reagan was as a candidate. Less government, specifically in the form of eliminating the Dept. of Education and scaling back the role of the Dept. of Engery, however, I believe that some government involvement is required in our monetary supply. That's why I'm a little closer to center than Ron Paul.
- America is a center right country, thus the big blue dot. Most Americans are content with the amount of government currently, and the country leans just a little liberal on social issues.
- This graph clearly indicates that the whole 'Right Wing Nazi' thing is a farce. Nazi is the German word for Nationalist Socialist Party. Nationalists and Socialists are in favor of complete governmental control, which falls on the far left of the political spectrum. It is impossible to be politically conservative and a nazi, or fascist.
3 People Have Had Their Say:
CL Right 5.64, Libertarian 2.63
But some of the questions are vague. Like, how do you define "morality" for the purposes of whether the state should enforce it?
Robbing a liquor store is immoral. Homo sex would be viewed as immoral by some. I don't want the state banning gay sex...but I do want thieves locked up. Like I say, I wasn't really sure how to define terms...so I may be more right, or more libertarian.
Or not.
Andy- Thanks for commenting. I apologize for the time it's taken me to get back with you, I was out of town for part of the day yesterday.
When taking the political quiz online, I ended up in the middle between libertarian and authoritarian for a similar reason to your point. What's the government's role in morality? I honestly feel that government intrusion into any issue is wrong, until the prove it right. Robbing a liquor store is immoral and illegal. Homo sex is viewed by some to be immoral, but in most places is not illegal. I give the government authority to deal with a liquor store robber, because it's illegal, and often violent. What two consenting adults do in the privacy of their bedroom is between them. Only when it becomes violent should the government (in the form of the police) be involved.
Seems to me there was some question about drug legalization. I am a'gin it. Which would be a more authoritarian position. However, homosexuality, I am indifferent because I don't believe the government should be involved in any persons relationship with another person.
Oh! I did that quiz thingy over on the FaceBook thingy. (yes, when you are a girl, "thingy" becomes a technical term)
My little red "X" was about 2 spaces to the left of yours. Which is STILL ON THE RIGHT. Someone will misread that, watch.
