Jingoistic Post of the Day

From teh ABC News:
President Obama was blasted by a top Latino ally on Monday for modifying his health-care plan in the face of conservative criticism.

The criticism was leveled in Spanish by Rep. Luis Gutierrez, a Democrat from Illinois who was the first Latino member of Congress to endorse Barack Obama for president.

Referring to the Obama administration, Gutierrez said: "Those who should be our friends, our allies, are more and more giving Rep. (Joe) Wilson, R-S.C., exactly what he wants to continue with this prejudice against our community."

Two points/questions:

  1. Did I miss the part during Obama's speach to the joint session of congress where Joe Wilson interrupted PeeBo and Said, 'You Lie!' Followed shortly thereafter by, 'And I hate all them damn Mexeekins, too!'?
  2. There are Latinos in Chicago?

But Gutierrez wasn't done being a complete moron:
Gutierrez, who made his remarks in Washington, D.C., while participating in a panel discussion on immigration reform sponsored by the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute, was incensed by the Obama administration's announcement over the weekend that it was going to bar undocumented workers from participating in the health insurance exchange.

Wait, what? He was 'incensed' because illegals will not be able to participate in a government program in a country that they are inhabiting in violation of the laws of said country?

Huh, I think I see where he's coming from on that one...

For your collective ire, here is the text of the Congressional Oath of Office:
I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God.

Please take the time to comment!

Notice that somehow... something is always owed by us, but nothing is ever owned bye us? It makes you wonder... who is "us"? By "us" I mean natural born American citizens. Though, you could say whites as well. There, now somebody call me a racist. The truth is that I don't want anyone to suffer, but we are dealing with limited resources. Why is this guy whining? They're going to make them citizens anyway, even McCain is for it. There will be no illegal aliens who are not covered by "the plan". There will be no illegal aliens, because soon enough, there won't be a goddamn border. Can you call what we have a border? A compromised border maybe? It starts with a pitiful approach. It turns into a race war. It's not the whites fault that we build the societies that the rest break their necks to get into... it's not our goddamn fault. Though, don't ask us to carry you on our backs anymore. You are heavy and you're not our brother. Moreover, the jealousy and hatred is so thick you could cut it with a knife against whites in America. Now... now call me a racist. Play your card, then suffer with the truth when you try to sleep tonight along side the ever growing shadow of hypocritical double standards. I really don't know why someone don't just say: "Hey... shut the fuck up Mexican. If your heart is in the Mexico community... TAKE YOUR GODDAMN ASS THERE TO JOIN IT."

Now you can call me a racist, surely I qualify. The trick is... I have nothing to lose, nothing to gain, and I'm not running for any goddamn office. Kiss my ass Gutierrez! Or whatever your name is.... Why can't you be like the dog whisperer and take care of your goddamn selves? You never hear Cesar complain. He's always calm and assertive. Yeah, he's a keeper. LOL.

BHR- Dog Whisper fan.

I believe, as you do that ultimately some form of amnesty will be passed and ultimately the 20+ million who are here illegally will be made legal. However, what Gutierrez is doing here is called 'showmanship.' He is trying to maintain his good standing with his constituents and needs them to understand that he's down with the struggle.
