Footbrawl?

Screen capture from 'The Four Letter' video.
In case you've been living on Mars for the last three weeks, you are fully aware that Footbaw season truly got off the ground tonight. There were a couple of games played, but only one team, truly got played. Yes, I speak of the Oregon Ducks. They weren't just beaten by the Boise State Broncos, they were bloodied up and then completely humiliated, multiple times. It was a stunning game to watch. However, most of the fireworks happened after regulation had run out.

Number 9, Running Back for Oregon, LeGarrett Blount lost his sh*t. There's really no other way to put it. He was -5 yards carrying for the night. The Ducks as a team had less than 40 yards rushing the entire game... Hell, even my Raiders do better than that when playing against the Patriots. None-the-less, Blount was not a happy duck when the game drew to a close. As players were headed from the field to their locker rooms, Number 94 Defensive End, Byron Hout ran up to Blount and slapped him on the shoulder and more than likely talked some trash. That's when the wheels fell off. Blount turned to face Hout and then cleaned his clock with a right cross that Hout is sure to still be feeling Saturday night. Listen, I've seen guys go down, but Hout went all the way down. He was kissing the blue turf. No doubt that Blount's career is effectively ovah! It should be mentioned that Hout slapped Blount on the the shoulder pads, and Blount punched a helmetless Hout in the face, in return.

It's a sad state of affairs when PAC/WAC players feel it necessary to punch each other in the jaw after a disheartening loss. However, what a way to start College Footbaw 2009-2010, huh?!?

Please take the time to comment!

And so it begins. The Pac-10 begins to prove early in the season just how bad they ALL suck!

But hey, I'll give this Blount guy some grace. I don't think I've ever heard a more sincere, "I'm the dumbest dumb-shit on the planet" than what Blount said.

I don't think his career is over. Sure, he is gonna get some suspension. But if he's all that and a bag of chips, he'll drag himself out of this.

Andy- I guess in this era of Vick, you're probably right. Seems just a few years ago that this type of behavior was a sure fire way to confirm you never had a career in pro ball. The times, they are a changin!

The Ducks are out local heroes so seeing what LeGarrett Blount did was disgusting but what was even more disgusting was watching his coach on the news tonight making excuses for him. He sounding patronizing, insincerely politically correct - and uncomfortable.

It's the era of Vick for sure but it's still sad to see college football descend to that level.

One of the many companies that I've happened to enjoy employment through is based in Eugene, and has contributed greatly to the University of Oregon. I know that there are many within that company who have to be quite embarrassed by the behavior of Blount.
Now that the dust has settled, we learned that LeGarrett effectively ended his college career with that blow to Hout. Good for Oregon!
