Separation of Church and State

9 Informed Opinions

 Thomas Jefferson

These are some of the most powerful words NOT found in the United States Constitution. What makes them so powerful? The complete and utter misconception that they are law. For those of you who are not familiar with the concept of separation, follow along as I show it's beginnings and the latest, twisted example of Thomas Jefferson's promise.

Before we get started, I want to put up some reference material which will be important to the blog post. It is the First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States. It reads as follows:
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
James Madison is the man who actually penned the first ten amendments to the Constitution, however, it is Jefferson who is primarily responsible for the concept of the separation of church and state that we know today. During 1801 and 1802, Thomas Jefferson was corresponding with a group of Baptists in Danbury, CT named Nehemiah Dodge, Ephraim Robbins and Stephen S. Nelson. The Baptists, concerned with political interference in the practice of their religion (i.e. the reason they left Europe) and with the fact that the Constitution did not specifically list freedom of religion as an 'inalienable right,' just as a freedom not to be prohibited, wrote a letter to President Thomas Jefferson expressing their concerns. It should be emphasized that their concern was for the free practice of religion, not the protection from religion.

In his return letter to the Danbury Baptists, Jefferson reaffirmed the protection granted by the Bill of Rights for the free practice of religion and declared that the First Amendment in essence buil[t] a wall of separation between Church & State. Jefferson's intent, as well the pleadings of the Baptists are crystal clear. The First Amendment of the United States was written to protect the ability to practice an individuals religion of choice without interference from the Government. It is not implied nor intended to provide freedom from religion, but instead freedom of religion. However, early in the 20th century as progressives established themselves within the power structure of the United States government, they began to slowly redefine the very definitions of ideas and statutes given in the Constitution and Bill of Rights. Separation of church and state shifted from a protection of the church to a protection for the state.

Fast forward to the 2000's. An attorney, emergency physician and atheist named Michael Newdow filed a lawsuit attempting to remove the phrase 'Under God' from the pledge of allegiance as it was alleged to be a violation of the separation of church and state. In an initial ruling on Newdow vs. United States Congress, Elk Grove Unified School District, et. al., the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that the phrase 'Under God' constituted an endorsement of religion and therefore violated the First Amendment's prohibition of respecting religion, also known as the Establishment Clause. Michael Newdow brought the lawsuit on behalf of his daughter, of whom he did not have primary custody. When the ruling of the 9th Circuit was appealed to the Supreme Court, the USSC ruled that Newdow did not have primary custody of his daughter and therefore did not have standing to allege that the recitation of the Pledge was a violation of the Establishment Clause.

In 2005 a new lawsuit was filed in US District Court on behalf of three unnamed families, challenging the legality of the 'Under God' phrase within the Pledge. From Wikipedia:
Judge Karlton issued an Order stating that, upon proper motion, he will enjoin the school district defendants from continuing their practices of leading children in pledging allegiance to "one Nation under God." The case was later appealed to the Ninth Circuit under Newdow v. Carey...
Which brings us to today... er, more specifically, yesterday.
A federal appeals court in San Francisco upheld the use of the words "under God" in the Pledge of Allegiance and "In God We Trust" on U.S. currency, rejecting arguments on Thursday that the phrases violate the separation of church and state.

The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals panel rejected two legal challenges by Sacramento atheist Michael Newdow, who claimed the references to God disrespect his religious beliefs.

"The Pledge is constitutional," Judge Carlos Bea wrote for the majority in the 2-1 ruling. "The Pledge of Allegiance serves to unite our vast nation through the proud recitation of some of the ideals upon which our Republic was founded."
Atheist blogger Allahpundit sums up the opinion in his post:
Where, as here, compulsion to recite is absent, government action respects an establishment of religion only if the government coerces students to engage in a religious exercise. Coercion to engage in a patriotic activity, like the Pledge of Allegiance, does not run afoul of the Establishment Clause. The Supreme Court recognized this distinction in the earliest of the school prayer cases, Engel v. Vitale, 370 U.S. 421 (1962). In Engel, the Court considered a school’s policy directing children to say aloud a prayer written by state officials. The Court found this policy violated the Establishment Clause because “[the] program of daily classroom invocation of God’s blessings as prescribed in the Regents’ prayer is a religious activity. It is a solemn avowal of divine faith and supplication for the blessings of the Almighty. The nature of such a prayer has always been religious.” Id. at 424-25. The Court was also careful, however, to distinguish the prayer in Engel from a ceremonial reference to God in a footnote…
In other words, the Establishment Clause is violated only if (a) you’re forced to praise God or (b) forced to listen to someone else praise God in the context of a prayer. No prayer + no compulsion = no problemo!
I'll save you from the dissenting opinion by Judge Stephen Reinhardt, but you can read it here if you are so inclined, all 130 pages of it.

The flaw in the reasoning of 'Under God' dissenters is and always has been that some how the recitation of God's name makes you religious or constitutes the practice of religion. Saying God's name no more makes you religious than saying the word plane makes you a pilot. Reciting the phrase 'Under God' no more constitutes the practice of religion than looking at a plane makes you a passenger on that plane.

However, this and every issue of the recitation of God's name along with every public Christmas display would be a non-issue for evermore if people truly understood the origins of the separation between church and state. I would argue that James Madison and Thomas Jefferson would grieve and openly weep were they able to see how their words have been twisted into a justification for the war being waged on religion in this nation today.

What's your opinion? Is the phrase 'Under God' in the pledge of allegiance unconstitutional? Is 'Under God' controversial? Let me know in the comments!

I've decided to jump on the band wagon, as it were, and offer my own take on the 'Hump Day Hottie.' Walmart = Racist

2 Informed Opinions

On Saturday last, Mr. Mayor revealed to a dumbfounded world the reality behind the racist pricing tendencies of that anti-labor powerhouse store for backward yokels known as Walmart. Don't believe me? The Mayor was kind enough to provide photographic evidence.

So foresighted was the Mayor that he lead this ABC news story by a full 4 days. Congrats, Mr. Mayor! At issue here is whether or not the fact that the 'black barbie doll' is selling for nearly half the price of the 'white barbie doll' is racist. Of course the only logical reason for this in our overtly race sensitive society is Andy's new favorite word, RACISM!

You see, in a capitalistic, predominantly white society, the only motivation for this type of douchery is racism. It cannot have anything to do with supply and demand. No! Besides, we all know that the capitalist system is racist at it's core anyway, right?

Paul pointed out, in a completely unrelated yet brilliant post yesterday, that black Americans make up about 13% of the population as of 2008. Would it not stand to reason then that a doll which in theory appeals to only 13% of the population would not sell as well as a doll that in theory appeals to 65.6% of the population, once you remove them pesky Hispanics? Don't try peddling your conservative, fear-mongering rational discernment here, whitey! No, no! This can only be the work of racist, black hating corporate fat-cats at Walmart!

Right...

Glenn Beck Blows... UPDATED Massa Investigated for Groping... VIDEO Added

0 Informed Opinions

Glenn Beck blows it. What did you think I was trying to say?

I normally find myself in Glenn Beck's corner on things, although here lately he's run off the rails on a few subjects. However, there's beginning to emerge a disturbing trend with Mr. Beck. Is he in danger of being written off by those who still listen to him as some sort of lose cannon, pointing his 'framers' gun at anyone whom he ascribes progressive or communistic tendencies?

Glenn had Michelle Malkin on his nationally syndicated radio show this morning, and he laid in to her. Over what? Why over Malkin taking issue with Beck's decision to give scumbag, sleaze peddler, pervert, disgraced Democrat[ic] Congresscritter Eric Massa an hour of airtime on Beck's TV program. Some conservatives are concerned with the possibility of this coming back to bite conservatives who are not overly willing to distance themselves from possibility of this guy only using this as an opportunity to save his political hide. I happen to agree with that general assessment. I am afraid that the draw of the 'whistle blowing' democrat is far to overwhelming for those involved to truly calculate the risk of the destruction that will be wrought when the accusations of sexual impropriety are revealed to be true.

Is Massa a powerful voice because of the bribery, and politics of destruction revelations? Yes. Is he completely tainted because until the accusations of his sexual impropriety shot to the headlines nationally, he didn't have squat to say about the process? And because his sudden claims of being pressured are awful damn convenient? Yes.

Massa is attempting to use this situation to portray himself as a political martyr and reposition himself as a viable candidate by exploiting the right's voracious appetite for anything anti-socialized medicine and anti-Obama. He's done it before. He grabbed hold of the phony soldiers thing.

This guy is an opportunistic sleaze of the worst kind, grabbing on to any perceived public outrage and attempting to capitalize upon it to better his personal situation. Turns out Michelle was wrong... we are apparently no longer on the same side.  Glenn appears to be on his own. Want to know why you shouldn't have Massa on for an hour, Glenn? This is why.

---

Update: Too soon to say I told you so?

Update II: Apparently 'salty language' is not the only thing Massa is guilty of.

Update III: "Boderline paranoid"...

Update IV: Turns out Michelle Malkin was right. Watch it while it's hot, Fox has this recent tendency to pull their videos down quickly.

The full train wreck is here.

Update V: The story comes full circle. Complete with video.

Hypocritical Gays

4 Informed Opinions

 Somebody's Fabulous!

You might have heard that a local State Senator by the name of Roy Ashburn was arrested last week for drunken driving after leaving a notorious gay bar in Sacramento. For a week, people were working themselves up into frothy foams attempting to determine just what it was that Roy Assburn was doing out so late at night, with an unidentified male in the car, supposedly leaving a gay night club. Today, Senator Assburn let the gay cat out of the bag:

State Sen. Roy Ashburn said he was feeling "numb" mid-morning Monday after announcing to his constituents that he is gay.

Ashburn, R-Bakersfield, came out Monday morning in an interview with talk radio host Inga Barks of AM 1180 KERN.

That numbness is a result of squeezing too hard. Just relax and you wont be so sore next time, or so Andrew Sullivan says...

Anyway, over the course of the week between Ashburn's arrest and his 'coming out,' accusations were flying all over the web accusing him of being a hypocritical gay. The very people who should, according to their own professions, have been Assburn's biggest defenders were tearing him down, all in the name of politics.

I don't give a rat's petootie whether or not Roy's gay. I don't care what he does in or out of a closet in the privacy of his or any other man's home. I do care how he votes. Roy's been pretty consistently conservative in his voting, so I have no problems with Roy. I do, however, have issues with how this will be used by the radical gay agenda as an example of self-loathing republicans who vote hypocritically. Asserting that all gays should vote for gay rights issues is the same as saying all whites should have voted for McCain and all blacks should have voted for PeeBo. This assertion is, of course, ludicrous.

For the record, the Government should not be involved in relationships, period. A marriage is a personal, physical and spiritual bond which a couple enters into, one with the other. When I read my bible (which doesn't happen often enough) I don't recall the part in Genesis 2:24 where it says:
For this reason a man shall leave his father and his mother, and be joined to his wife; and they shall become one flesh, once the government has been paid for the marriage license and blood work has been completed.

This is why all gays should be libertarians, or conservatives on this issue. Sadly it's no longer about the issue, but an agenda. It's not enough to be accepted, they must instead be allowed to perform their revolting acts on television, in the streets and in your face. Should you protest, why you're nothing but a homophobic bigot. What, you didn't know?

SARAH PALIN SAYS F*@# YOU! or something...

0 Informed Opinions

Fair warning. I am in a funk and my writing will reflect that. I seem to have taken off my razor sharp wit and drippy sarcasm before I went to bed last night and have yet to find it this morning. My apologies...
In today's example of leftist morons, we have a real winner. This esteemed libtard goes by the name of Kagro X, aka David Waldman. Not that David Waldman, this one:

Yes, so brilliant is this man, that he calls his wife an idiot who betrayed her own kind by starting the propagandist outlet of Fox News, and he admits to torturing his children all on his public profile at DKos.

Anyway, on to the real reason for the post. It should not surprise anyone at this point that leftists and progressives have no morals. It should not surprise anyone that they are so invested in a thought process that they will damn all evidence to the contrary to forward their bilk. Although it could be implied in the last sentence, I am not speaking of Global Warming, Healthcare; per se, Minimum Wage, Gay Rights, ACORN, Second Hand Smoke or any typical lefty talking point du jour. Well, okay, maybe just one lefty talking point. You know the one about Sarah Palin being a foaming at the mouth mental midget? Seems, David X accuses Palin of telling everyone else to screw off after she got hers. True story, well sort of...

See! It says so, right there in the headline. Sarah Palin, apparently, is a fan of Socialized Medicine when she needs to use it, but "f*@#" the rest of y'all.

There's only one minor, teensy weensy little detail that David X forgot to check out before he hammered Palin. See, according to Palin, they were going across the border into Canada to get medical help in "the 60's," however, Yukon didn't begin Socialized Healthcare until 1972. Hmm, I'm pretty sure that "the 60's" and 1972 are different decades, but I might be off. I'll go ahead and defer to Barack "57 States" Obama on that one.

I've decided that I like posting pictures and videos, as it's a lot less typing for me. So, in our next installment, I offer for your viewing pleasure a videographic representation of the two parties approach to legislation. Enjoy.

This is how the Democrat[ic]s approach legislation. Brain: off, Heartstrings: pulled.

This is how the Republicans approach legilsation. Brain: fully engaged much to the chagrin of the smartest president, evah, Heartstrings: neatly tucked away for a real tragedy.

Of course, the best part of this is that Dental Coverage is NOT included in Obamacare. So tell your constituent to get comfy and send her a tube of polygrip.

Shortly thereafter, Peebo explained his complete ignorance on the difference between liabilty and collision automobile coverage (both of which have absolutely nothing to do with health coverage) then he ended things up by picking a wicked booger on live TV. Keep in mind that George W Bush was the dumbest President in history.

Poking Fun At The Handicapped Is AWESOME!

3 Informed Opinions

Fair warning, this morning being what it has, I've managed to work myself up into a bitchy froth and reading the news only added to it. Let's dive right in shall we?
You'll recall that less than a week ago the travesty which passes for comedy on Fox called 'Family Guy' decided to fall in line behind every other leftist in the country and address a very important political issue head on. Of course I am speaking of Sarah Palin's son Trig, who happens to live with Down Syndrome. Yes, thank G_d we have such brave souls on the left who are willing to address the really important issues of the day, like making fun of a political opponents child who is mentally handicapped. The episode in question portrays one of the main characters, Chris, dating a girl who is revealed to have down syndrome. While revealing details about herself, she drops this line:
"My dad's an accountant, and my mom's the former governor of Alaska."
This is what passes as humor from the cesspool known as Hollyweird. Sarah Palin for her part was rightfully outraged:
She said she was too ticked off to respond personally --"felt like another kick in the gut," she said -- so on Palin's Facebook page her daughter Bristol said, in part, "People with special needs face challenges that many of us will never confront, and yet they are some of the kindest and most loving people you'll ever meet. Their lives are difficult enough as it is, so why would anyone want to make their lives more difficult by mocking them?"
There appeared to be the end. A prepubescent boy's sense of humor which had been fashioned into a 'sitcom' takes a stab at a former candidate for Vice President's mentally handicapped son. The former candidate responds, rightfully so. Thus ends the saga, right?

Wrong. Enter Andrea Friedman, an accomplished actress who also lives with down syndrome. Not content sitting by and allowing this disgraceful episode to pass by, she pens a response to Palin's outrage calling the joke "sarcasm," read below:
"I guess former Governor Palin does not have a sense of humor. I thought the line "I am the daughter of the former governor of Alaska" was very funny. I think the word is "sarcasm".

In my family we think laughing is good. My parents raised me to have a sense of humor and to live a normal life. My mother did not carry me around under her arm like a loaf of French bread the way former Governor Palin carries her son Trig around looking for sympathy and votes."

Timeout. I am about to disembowel this woman. And, since she happens to be the most intelligent person that the left has to offer, I declare this the definitive take down of all lefties. From this point forward, should some moonbat show up trying to spread the shit which proceeds from their mouths as intellectual and insightful, I will simply refer them back to this post, and ignore them. /Timeout
"Hey, look! It's okay for Andrea to make fun, cause she's handicapped, too! We did it, we're completely covered on this one! If the right comes back at us, we'll accuse them of hating the handicapped!"

Hey Andrea, quit being a tool. You can have any opinion you want, but do you really think that you are doing yourself or any other person with down syndrome favors by ripping on an infant who happens to have down syndrome? Really?! If you really cared about the advancement of people with down syndrome, you'd be railing against the idea of anyone making fun of any person who has down syndrome for any reason. Instead you're falling in line with all the other lefties justifying the behavior because you disagree with Palin's politics. It's this mentality which allows outbursts like Rahm Emanuel's to be far too commonplace in our society. Shame on you.

What those the left do not seem to comprehend is that it's not okay to make fun of a minor person who has no control over their circumstances. In this case, Trig does not have the ability to control what his mother does with her life, nor what she does with him, nor does he have the ability to control his mental handicap. And for G_d's sake, the kid is a MINOR. You want to make fun of a candidate, go for it. They chose the public life and sought out all the attention it brings, both good and bad. But leave the kids out of it. Of course we on the right have no room to talk, since we have been relentlessly bashing Frances Quinn Hunter, ever since we found out she was the daughter of John Edwards. Oh wait, that's right, we haven't.

Let's go ahead and dispell the notion that Sarah Palin is using Trig to 'get votes.' Can anyone help me out here? What office is it that Palin is seeking? Anyone? That's right, she's not. She's a private citizen. Regardless, in at least one blog, Andrea Freidman's response was paired with this photograph. Based on the age of Trig in the photo, it's obvious that the picture was taken during a book signing stop, and NOT a campaign rally. So nice try on the justification there, but all the left has proven, once again, is that they have no respect for life, whatsoever. They consider Trig Palin a post cervical fetus, who should have been aborted.

You want to hurl insults at a public figure, go for it. You want to make fun of a person seeking public office, it's your right. You want to make fart jokes and idolize Noam Chomsky and call it great TV, you have that right under the First Amendment. You also have the right to belittle a little boy with down syndrome because you disagree with the politics of his mother. That doesn't make it right and you should have more class, but then again, this is the left we're talking about.

"Hey! While we're out bashing a mentally handicapped minor child, let's revive the original birther movement and question Trig's maternity!!! ALRIGHT!
Damn, you guys on the left really know how to party. All that's left is to drag out Andrew Sullivan's lame ass...

And right on cue...

1st Amendment Rights For Me, Not For Thee

0 Informed Opinions

New York Institute for Special Education, Class Picture 2009
Surely if you've been living above ground for the last three weeks you recall the utter conniption the lefties had when the Supreme Court overturned the McCain Feingold legislation banning unregulated donations to the national parties. The law also explicitly denied the ability of large corporations to directly donate to candidates and advertise in an election for or against any candidate or issue. Democrats decried the court's decision as allowing corporations (including foreign) to spend without limit to influence elections here in the United States. This is of course a claim which has no basis in the actual understanding of law. Quoteth I from ABC News, emphasis mine:
Under current law, foreign nationals cannot donate to political candidates or pay for campaign ads. Concerns that other countries might try to influence American elections are not merely academic. In the late 1990s the Justice Department and congressional investigators uncovered efforts by foreign donors to infiltrate the American political system through donations to the Democratic Party under Bill Clinton. Among those implicated was Johnny Chung, a Clinton fund-raiser who told Federal investigators that a large part of the nearly $100,000 he gave the Democrats in the 1996 campaign came from China. According to published reports, Democrats had to return another $1.6 million brought in by another prominent Clinton money man, John Huang, after questions were raised about the source of the funds.
So, you're saying that the only ones to ever exploit the system in place by accepting donations from foreign companies was the Democrats?! Say it ain't so! Anyhoo, looks as though the party of law breakers found another loophole to exploit. From Hot Air:
"...the New York Times reports today, one select group of Democrats have had no problem cultivating corporate influence, and doing so by working around the McCain-Feingold restrictions their party claims to champion:

When the Congressional Black Caucus wanted to pay off the mortgage on its foundation’s stately 1930s redbrick headquarters on Embassy Row, it turned to a familiar roster of friends: corporate backers like Wal-Mart, AT&T, General Motors, Coca-Cola and Altria, the nation’s largest tobacco company.

Soon enough, in 2008, a jazz band was playing at what amounted to a mortgage-burning party for the $4 million town house.

Most political groups in Washington would have been barred by law from accepting that kind of direct aid from corporations. But by taking advantage of political finance laws, the caucus has built a fund-raising juggernaut unlike anything else in town.

It has a traditional political fund-raising arm subject to federal rules. But it also has a network of nonprofit groups and charities that allow it to collect unlimited amounts of money from corporations and labor unions.

From 2004 to 2008, the Congressional Black Caucus’s political and charitable wings took in at least $55 million in corporate and union contributions, according to an analysis by The New York Times, an impressive amount even by the standards of a Washington awash in cash. Only $1 million of that went to the caucus’s political action committee; the rest poured into the largely unregulated nonprofit network. (Data for 2009 is not available.)
Now, consider that $55 million in light of the outrage expressed over the last few weeks over the court’s Citizens United decision.
Color me completely shocked. Be sure to read the rest and watch the attached video. The effort here is to keep the status quo, in other words allow Democrats to continue to collect large sums of money from corporations to fund their political activities, while explicitly denying corporations from donating to groups and individuals with differing ideologies. Keep in mind that the Congressional Black Caucus is the same group of morons who visited Fidel Castro in Cuba last year and proclaimed him a great and compassionate leader.

Absolutely Disgusting

2 Informed Opinions

I read this moments ago, and could not wait until later to post on it. I've NEVER been so outraged at a person I've never met. How cold, calloused and self-serving must one be...? This review of the Salon article is from Cassy Fiano:
I came across an article on Salon entitled “How to leave a soldier” that has apparently been making ripples across the blogosphere. It absolutely infuriated me, and I knew I had to write about it.

Before I get into the article, though, let me explain some things in the interest of full disclosure. My significant other is a Marine. We live together in North Carolina while he’s stationed at Camp Lejeune. He’s an 0311 (infantry rifleman) who has been to Iraq twice and is deploying to Afghanistan this year. The first year of our relationship was long distance, with him in North Carolina and me in Florida. We’re together now, but the Corps brings us apart occasionally for training and such, and of course, for deployments. Never, ever would I do something so cowardly as to send him a Dear John letter while he was deployed.

But that’s exactly what this woman did. Meet Courtney Cook, an extraordinarily shallow and callous woman.

You’d be surprised how easy it is to leave a soldier on deployment. You can do it with a letter. (He can’t argue with you. He doesn’t have a phone.) If you lay the groundwork early, saying to the soldier before he leaves, “This will be the end of us, we might as well admit it,” it’s that much easier. The letter won’t even come as a shock.

And if you have children with that soldier? You can handle all that with a letter, too. He’ll write it — because he cares about the kids, because he wants to work with you to do what’s best for them even though you’re leaving him — and you’ll give it to them. Here again, you will avoid a nasty confrontation. Who will they cry to? You? You’re just the teary-eyed bearer of the letter. Him? The one who’s sweating it out in the desert?

There will be no moving truck, no boxes, no house torn asunder. The soldier is peeing in a bucket as you pack. He doesn’t care who gets the couch.

It isn’t enough for her to be this callous, shallow, superficial, and selfish. She’s recommending other women do the same thing, too. One of the worst parts about this is that she feels like it was a good thing to tell him while he’s away at war that she’s leaving him. She presumably doesn’t care about the effect this has on soldiers while they’re deployed.

Be sure to head over to Cassy's blog to read the entire review, and if you have the stomach for it, head over to Salon to read the original post. If you head over to Salon, take a vomit bucket with you.

Fat Blonde Puts Foot In Mouth; Begins To Chew

Also Known As

This morning on The Spew, Meghan McCain aka Young Sally Struthers, pontificated on 'exactly what's wrong with politics.' At issue is Sarah Palin's call for Rahm Emmanuel to be fired while simultaneously finding nothing wrong with Rush Limbaugh's use of the word 'retarded' when used in as satire aimed at Rahm Emmanuel. Rush's point, which was obvious to anyone in his audience, was that a Republican under the same exact circumstance, would be run out of town on a rail. However, the POTUS' chief of staff just has to act like he's sorry, then all is forgiven. So, since Rahm can say it and get away with it, then it must be okay to do now, right? When Bawbawa Wawa questioned Rush's use of 'satire,' Whoopi Gasbag chimed in saying:
"Yeah, well, when he appears at Caroline's, the comedy club, I'll believe it was satirical. "
You see, only comedians in comedy clubs can use satire. Everybody knows that.

Also on the firing range for Young Sally Struthers, Tom Tancredo's Tea Party speech. Apparently Y.S.S. no issue with uninformed voters and illegal aliens voting in the election. Fucking Brilliant. She also accuses Tom Tancredo of racism. Here are the two remarks of Tancredo's which are racist, as determined by Y.S.S.:
"People who could not spell the word 'Vote' or say it in English, put a committed Socialist Ideologue in the White House, who's name is Barrack 'Hussein' Obama..."

"...People at the convention should have to pass literacy tests in order to be able to vote in this country..."

Y.S.S. compares Tancredo's statements to the 1960's and the excuses used to deny African-Americans' the right to vote. Either Y.S.S. is extremely ignorant, or she's as retarded as Rahm Emmanuel. Citizens of the United States who'd been granted the right to vote by the Constitution were being singled out and refused their right to vote based solely upon the color of their skin. The charge of illiteracy was a canard floated as a legitimate disqualifier by racists to prevent blacks their rights. Fast forward to November 4, 2008. It is known that there are somewhere between 12 and 40 MILLION Illegal Aliens residing within the borders of this nation. Illegal Aliens, are by definition NOT citizens of the United States and are therefore legally disqualified from voting. The other burr under Y.S.S.'s saddle is the fact that Tancredo used Barry's middle name which is a McCaniac no no. I'm sure when Y.S.S. got home, John grounded her for a week just for mentioning PeeBo's middle name, regardless of the context.

If you can stand the idiocy, here is the video:

Bend Over, Here It Comes

2 Informed Opinions

Regardless of whether or not Reuters withdrew the story, you're about have some taxes shoved through your back door:

Published under the headline “Backdoor taxes hit middle class,” the article opened by describing the Obama Administration’s plan to cut more than $1 trillion from the deficit over the next decade as relying “heavily on so-called backdoor tax increases that will result in a bigger tax bill for middle-class families.” Four hours and three minutes after it hit the wire, the story was “withdrawn” with a promise that “a] replacement story will run later in the week.”

Why did Reuters pull the story? One site cited a Reuters rep as saying the piece was withdrawn “due to significant errors of fact” and “should not have gone out.” I think it was the language used in the article that prompted Reuters to pull it. In particular, it was the series of phrases shown below that, combined with the one mentioned above, must have made the hair stand up on the back of Rahm Emanuel’s neck:

“…effectively a tax hike by stealth.”

“middle-class families will face a slew of these backdoor increases.”

Perhaps the largest contributing factor to the article being yanked is a list of tax break provisions popular among middle-class families that Obama might allow to expire:

* Taxpayers who itemize will lose the option to deduct state sales-tax payments instead of state and local income taxes.

* The $250 teacher tax credit for classroom supplies.

* The tax deduction for up to $4,000 of college tuition and expenses.

* Individuals who don’t itemize will no longer be able to increase their standard deduction by up to $1,000 for property taxes paid.

* The first $2,400 of unemployment benefits are taxable, in 2009 that amount was tax-free.

The last line of the story was, perhaps, the proverbial “nail in the coffin” for the Reuter’s piece:

* Trickle-down-taxation.

And from the 'Doctor of Democracy:'

Here's why. "If the provisions are allowed to expire on December 31, the top-tier personal income tax rate will rise to 39.6 percent from 35 percent. But lower-income families will pay more as well: the 25 percent tax bracket will revert back to 28 percent; the 28 percent bracket will increase to 31 percent; and the 33 percent bracket will increase to 36 percent." This is what they all were before Bush cut them. "The special 10 percent bracket is eliminated." This is all true. Every bit of it is true. If you're going to let these tax cuts sunset, it means we're going to go back to what they were before Bush cut them, and those are the rates that I just gave you. That means that everybody paying income taxes is going to effectively get an increase, a tax increase, despite Obama's constant pledges that 95% of the American people get a tax cut, and he's calling one-time tax rebates a tax cut. So obviously the White House did not like this story.

If you just relax your muscles and stop resisting, the 'Hope and Change' will slide in much easier.

Classiest POTUS In History Insults SCOTUS

The most brilliantest POTUS evah insulted the Supreme Court justices, all of whom were seated immediately in front of him, by claiming that they overturned a century of law which will allow "foreign interests" to "spend without limits" in US Elections. PeeBo, the Constitutional Professor, fails to realize, however, that the 1st Amendment only offers protection to the citizens of the United States.

At What Point Do We Call Him A Racist Murdering Bastard?

2 Informed Opinions

Yeah, I know... It's been like forever, so quit acting like you're truly hurt that I haven't blogged, and I'll quit acting like this was ever anything serious to start with. Deal? Sweet.

So, on to the point of this here blarg post. I was reading a little about on of the left's most treasured individuals of the 20th century last week, and ran across some not so surprising stuff. First, before you go any further, if you have not read Humberto Fontova's review of Steven Soderbergh's Che, go read it right now. I will wait here. Please hurry, I kinda have to pee. I think it's this bottle of wine I'm drinking. Are you done yet? Jeezus, I'm going to wet my pants! Ooohoohoo, lalala, ebebebebe. Yes, this actually makes it better. Don't act like you don't do the pee pee dance when you have to go. Alright, your turn to wait.

The only picture of Che Guevara worthy to be shown.

OMG, do I feel better. And look who else is done now. How convenient. Shall we continue? Are you certain? Fantastic, let's go.

Okay, so now you've figured out that this post is about Ernesto Che Guevara. Che, as he is most often called, was marxist reformer who attempted to spread socialism and communism across the world. While he was only moderately successful at this feat, he was much more accomplished at racism and murder. What kind of a man was Che? Well, let's take a look. Why don't we start with the views of the progressive left's favorite T-Shirt icon on Black people?

From The African Dream: The diaries of the Revolutionary War in the Congo, author Patrick Camiller quotes Che:

"Given the prevailing lack of discipline, it would have been impossible to use [Black] Congolese machine-gunners to defend the base from air attack: they did not know how to handle their weapons and did not want to learn,"

And in his autobiography, The Motorcycle Diaries:

"The blacks, those magnificent examples of the African race who have maintained their racial purity thanks to their lack of an affinity with bathing, have seen their territory invaded by a new kind of slave: the Portuguese."

"The black is indolent and a dreamer; spending his meager wage on frivolity or drink; the European has a tradition of work and saving, which has pursued him as far as this corner of America and drives him to advance himself, even independently of his own individual aspirations."

So, here we have a mass murdering, racist, homophobe who has become not just an idol, but an icon of the left in this country. Their justification seems to be his humanitarian efforts, and his medical work with the people of Guatemala. How many humanitarians you know that have murdered 180 people? So, now we arrive at my blog post title, At what point do we call him a racist, murdering bastard?

Here are some libtards trying to justify some of Che's more racist quotes. Here is another lefty blog running to Che's rescue, without any source material to refute claims which the author finds abhorrent. To them, I have this to say:

Should you have any doubts about how Che felt about Mexicans, Americans, Blacks, Jews or Homosexuals, read HIS fucking words, mmkay?

I think we're finally there. Che Guevara is a racist, murdering bastard. There, I feel so much better.

I hope that you have had opportunity to watch Revolutionary Holocaust in it's entirety. However, Part 3 of 5 starting at the 6:27 mark is quite relevant, wouldn't you say?

Democrats Legislate Racism... SHOCKER

2 Informed Opinions

Paul linked to this web article in his New Year's Eve link dump, and I thought it was worth excerpting.

I cannot fathom why people do not understand when you legislate in favor of any people group, you are discriminating against another. It's not that difficult a concept to wrap your mind around. However, since all white people are racists, we need to be given a disadvantage so the poor helpless minorities can get a fair shake.

Both [health reform] proposals are obscenely expensive. Both limit our freedom to choose our families’ health care. And both would legislate racial and other forms of discrimination — making them not only unconstitutional, but immoral, counterproductive, and dangerous.

I would like to point out, however, that on several occasions Barack Obama has stated that he is open to listening to other ideas, opinions from outside his own party and political persuasion. That's why he and every member of the Moron Party ignored two letters sent from the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights.

Within the last three months, the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights has twice sent letters to the president and the leaders of the House and Senate warning them of discriminatory provisions in both bills. But those warnings have been ignored, and the problems remain.

Apparently the Senate bill written by the pillar of marital fidelity, Max Baucus (Moron-MT), states that "priority" for federal education funds are only to be given to institutions which offer "preferential" admissions to underrepresented minorities. This is obviously because dumber more rich and racist white people are getting the spots that would otherwise go to the sweet, innocent, wholesome and much more intelligent underrepresented minorities.

[The health care reform bill] directs the secretary of health and human services to award federal grants worth billions of dollars to educational institutions that train medical-service providers. However, “priority” for federal dollars is to be given only to those institutions offering “preferential” admissions to underrepresented minorities (according to race, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, and religion, depending on which section of the bill you look at). Thus, schools will be unable to compete for essential federal funding unless they adopt admission policies that intentionally and deliberately discriminate.

This next part is one of my personal favorites. The bill states that those institutions which do not have a clear understanding of the mating habits of the homosexual and transgendered sub-aboriginal people of the island of Tonga and/or lack concern for the LBGT community of Puama'u, Hiva Oa are subject to ineligibility for federal funds and are liable for "liquidated damages."

The bill also declares that institutions training social workers, psychologists, psychiatrists, behavioral pediatricians, psychiatric nurses, and counselors will be ineligible for federal grants unless they discriminate. According to Section 756, these programs must enroll “individuals and groups from different racial, ethnic, cultural, geographic, religious, linguistic, and class backgrounds, and different genders and sexual orientations” and demonstrate “knowledge and understanding of the concerns of the[se] individuals and groups.” If the schools fail to abide by these requirements, they will be liable for “liquidated damages.”

Take the time to read through the entire article and have your eyes opened to the mandated racism from the Party of Morons. Also, be sure to see Paul's blog posts on the truth about the Dixiecrats, Democrat racists who were NOT ever Republicans.
