Old Fart Even Older

7 Informed Opinions

Paul Mitchell in a colorized photo from shortly before his 9th birthday.  May 1846.

It's July somethingoranother, 2010.
Sorry but the days all run together when you're unemployed. As a matter of fact, I'm not even confident that it is a weekday. Someone will have to set me straight.
Anywho, it is apparently Paul Mitchell's birthday. It seems that on this day in 1837, Beelzebub's legs opened up and out of it's womb walked the meanest old pepaw the world has known. Now, I know what you're saying, 'Paul Mitchell's still alive?!' I know, I would have guessed that all the freebasing and deep throating of Coors Light bottles would have taken him by now, too. However, Paul Mitchell is somehow too strong for Death to claim his body.

Paul has done many things in his life, but his greatest achievement, apart from calling me a friend, happens to be a little blarg he runs. Maybe you've heard of it? It's called Gay Men's DP Action! Paul's been the HGIC, Head Gay In Charge, over at the self described 'fail boat' now for just over 5 damned years. He muses on everything from naked chicks to politics to naked chick politicians. So it's a, you know, smorgasbord of media and entertainment over at his place.

Some chick in Paul's uniform.

Paul is a rabid University of Southern California football fan and never misses a chance to dress up in the USC cheerleader uniform he ordered online. If you drop by his place, you can often hear him singing along to his favorite bands, Kings of Leon, Wham!, and The Pet Shop Boys. Paul is an Architect by trade, and cites Frank Lloyd Wright as one of his inspirations. Paul is constantly searching for ways to incorporate reclaimed and recycled items into his architecture as a way to save mother earth. Paul likes to get 'hands on' with his work and often can be found at the construction site as one of his buildings is being erected. He has an insatiable work ethic and never let's anthing get in his way. You know that nightmare that everyone has where they find themselves nekkid at work? Paul's lived it.

Shortly before 'the accident'
Taking over for an inept foreman, Paul jumped in to speed along a behind schedule project. It was on this day that some of Paul's flowing locks of chin hair got caught up in the belt sander, and well, we all remember visiting him in the hospital.

Paul after 'the accident'
Thankfully, Paul has made an almost complete recovery and is back to being a dirty old hippy.

~

Truth is, this is as far from honest as Obama is every time he open's his lying piehole. Paul is a cool guy and a great sport for letting me take a shot at him, even on his birthday. He's been a friend and has taken the time to impart some of his knowledge to me. For this I am greatly appreciative. He really does run a blog, and the content is seldom gay, but lately focuses a lot on nekkid chicks. I'm fine with that. He hates USC, Frank Lloyd Wright, Kings of Leon and Wham! Although, I'm pretty sure he's a closet Pet Shop Boys fan.

Anyway, Happy Birthday to the guy who should be running the messaging campaign for the GOP. Since he's such a good sport, I got Paul something special. Be sure to stop by his place, and while you're there, why not buy something? It's the guy's birthday after all.

Thanks to Andy for the heads up! Thanks Andy!!

I Promise I'll Be Back, Soon

2 Informed Opinions

I was planning on displaying my own Mohammad art here, but it'll have to wait till I'm back.
I'm sorry for neglecting my primary duties here at IACLAYST. My intention was to return Wednesday afternoon to pack the blog full of posts too good to pass up, but when you have a 90 year old grandmother, sometimes small things become not so minor. Anywho, I'll be spending most of the day out again today, checking up on her and finishing the things I was supposed to finish Wednesday morning.

Thanks for your understanding, and since you're here, why not buy something?!

Also, be sure to check out these guys. They're almost as good as my stuff... almost.

Meet Miss USA

1 Informed Opinion

By now, I'm sure that you're aware that the recently crowned 'Miss USA' is a woman by the name of Rima Fakih. If you're wondering how exactly to pronounce that correctly, down a half bottle of Vodka and fill your mouth with marbles, then say the phrase, 'The Most Transparent Admninstration, Ever!'

Anyway, turns out Fatima Rima is a moonbat, a Pole Dancer and now, Acclaimed Actress... or something. She starred in a indy spoof film entitled "Throbbing Justice". Here it is for your viewing, uh... pleasure.

Part One

Part Two

By the way, Paul has nekkid pictures of her if you're interested.

Thanks iOwnTheWorld!
So, what do you figure happens when your lowly CentralCal buddy get's linked by the big bloggy show over at iOTW? That! That's what happens!!! Site traffic skyrockets, baby. Of course, BigFurHat is on the comedic level of Mr. Mayor which adds to the level of prestige. I am now worthy to be counted amongst the likes of Paul Mitchell, Andy and Innominatus.

Anywho, thanks to BigFurHat and his team for making my day week month year.

Shamelessly Stolen Week

6 Informed Opinions

Welcome to Shamelessly Stolen Week! In light of the fact that I've stolen the themed week idea from The Mayor, lets pay honor to entrepreneurial thieves everywhere!

First up, 'The Greatest Rock Band of All Time!'

That's right, Led Zeppelin is a group of thieving whores. Apparently, Jake Homes wrote a letter asking Jimmy Page for acknowledgement, but is still waiting...

But, it's all good cause they wrote Stairway to Heaven, arguably the most recognizable rock song in history. Uh, yeah... about that.

Whoops... Sorry about that Spirit. It's just a wicked coincidence that our song Stairway to Heaven sounds almost identical to your song Taurus... Trust us. The fact that Led Zeppelin opened for Spirit on their first US tour has absolutely nothing to do with it.

If you're going to write any music, whatsoever, do NOT ask Jimmy Page for creative input.

Not a Government take over... riiiight!
...Medical loss ratios-the rules that require insurers to spend a minimum percentage of their operating budgets on medical care—any higher, it would have transformed the health insurance industry into "an essentially governmental program." Today, the Washington Post helps explain why: In determining how to implement the new MLRs, the government has to determine what counts as medical care and what doesn't:

If you were a regulator interpreting the new requirement that health insurers use at least 80 or 85 percent of their premium dollars to pay medical bills or otherwise improve consumers' health, which of the following expenses would you count toward the quota:

1. Combating fraud and other overbilling by doctors and hospitals.

2. Running "utilization review" or "pre-certification" departments to determine whether the insurer should cover treatment that doctors have proposed.

3. Conducting internal or external reviews when patients appeal an insurance company's decision to deny coverage.

Insurers have urged regulators to give them credit for all of the above.

In comments submitted to the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC), which is helping the government translate the new requirement into detailed rules, members of the industry have asked for permission to count a wide range of expenses.

The BlueCross BlueShield Association, for example, has told rulemakers that its efforts to improve health quality include "reducing inappropriate and sometimes potentially harmful care."

In some ways this is nothing more than typical bureaucratic haggling. But the overall effect is to give regulators significant power to determine exactly how insurers will shape their practices and product offerings."

Confirmed: We've learned virtually nothing since the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

Rule Number 5 Sunday

1 Informed Opinion

Good news, the gods have smiled upon us and we've survived to witness another Sunday morning. As you look out your window this morning, it's probably a beautiful day, unless you live in the Midwest or the Pacific Northwest where the weather and life in general, for that matter, are always shitty. So you enjoy whatever your Sunday brings. Mine will bring 80°, a bike ride, sunbathing in the back yard and wine and cigars at dusk upon the back patio. Why is it you live where you live again? But, I digress.

Let's get to it shall we? This week we're featuring submissions by the sultry Monica Bellucci. Paul was kind enough (yes, you read that correctly kind) to supply us with a "link to the MOTHERLODE of hump day hotties," and I promised to flog it for all it's worth. So sit back, turn up the heater a notch or five and enjoy some pictures of the beautiful Monica Bellucci. The driveway can stand to be snowed in for another couple hours...

Links to other Rule Number 5 posts will go up when I get around to it.

--

I'm around toit.

The Grandaddy of all Rule #5 Posts, here.

Mr. Mayor has a submission here. Or maybe it's here. I'm not really sure what he's going for.

Nation of Cowards has Bar Rafaeli. If you don't know what a Bar Rafaeli is, you need to go find out.

The Camp of the Saints has a worthy submission here.

Smash Mouth Politics gets into the act. Venus Williams is HOT, yo...

Pirates Cove has a picture up and a Rule 5 Link Dump.

Starting From the Middle of the Story has a great submission.

That'll about wind 'er up unless y'all know something I don't. Peace out!

Friends Week

3 Informed Opinions

It's time to tie up Friends Week. Our last entry into Friends Week is none other than SkunkFeathers. Here's a picture of Skunks and Seymour many, many, many, many, many, many moons ago. Funny story, just as Skunks went to pick up Seymour, he was stung by a hive of bees, thus the appearance of muscle tone. Anyhow, Skunks and Seymour spend their days wandering the beautiful parks and wild land just out Skunks back door. When they're not assaulting innocent Rattlesnakes, they are toying with Nigerian Princes. Yeah, suffice it to say, their schedule is pretty darn full.

There's been such a overwhelming positive reaction to Friends week, that we'll have to have another one in the near future, and get to all the great friends that we didn't have time to cover. Friends like BARH, Patrick, Innominatus, Girl on the Right and perhaps even a few more.

Finally, and most sincerely, thank you to my bloggy friends for being good sports this week. You guys are the best!

The Classical Liberal (no, he and I are not the same person) was kind enough to stop by and leave a comment at our lowly blog. I've bumped through a few of his posts, and he appears to be good people. He also appears to be new to the whole blogging thing and has been at it for a mere 7 years. So be sure to poke around his place and leave a comment or two, you know, help the new guy out.

Friends Week

7 Informed Opinions

I am quickly learning that Friends Week is not making me any new ones, and might be alienating those whom I claim currently. Oh well, what the hell, right? Today's installment features our Bestest Kentucky Buddy, ChristinaJade. Well, not so much CJ, as it is her van. Yes, it's never hard to tell when CJ is in your neighborhood or at the store you're preparing to visit. Hard to see under the bumper sticker, or two are her Pit bulls. She's pretty, but keep your distance. I'll let you decide why.

Be sure to check back tomorrow at this time to see our final installment of Friends Week!

Friends Week

9 Informed Opinions

We continue our exciting dive into Friends Week tonight showcasing our favorite bureaucrat, Mr. Mayor! Mr. Mayor is normally not one to toot his own horn, as it were, but when there's a budget surplus and no political scandal on the horizon, it's hard to stop him from one of his favorite activities. Which activity is that you ask? Well, Mr. Mayor is a wicked euphonium player and is active in the brass rock band, 'We Blow!' Mr. Mayor has been known to serenade Canadian Reindeer in the nude before getting ready for a big show. Be sure to check Mr. Mayor out er, or what I meant to say was, 'check out his site!'

Hump Day Hottie

6 Informed Opinions

I've decided to jump on the band wagon, as it were, and offer my own take on the 'Hump Day Hottie.' Since this was not my idear, I'll go ahead and link to those out there in the bloggy world who helped inspire the idea... as soon as their posts go up. In the mean time, here are what we have from last week.

Andy's effort. Thanks for the link, Andy... I think. Followed by Mr. Mayors. I confess, considering the pictures I've posted below, it might be that I do not fully grasp the concept of the whole Hump Day 'Hottie' thing. Is there sarcasm involved? Anyway, thank you gentlemen!

And, here are the posts from this week:

Yes, I Know

7 Informed Opinions

Why the hell not?
It's been 3 years, 5 months 17 days, 9 hours, 15 minutes and 54 seconds since my last post. The good news is that nothing of any importance has happened since the last time I wrote. Not going to lie, it's been difficult to balance work, caring for my grandmother, redesigning my mother's guest bedroom, nursing shingles- oh yeah, and there's that whole work thing. But you're not here for excuses- unless you're a libtard, then that's all you understand.

While cruising the seedy underbelly of these here interwebbynets, I happened upon the dumbest person ever to access the web, other than Algore hisself, of course. I must warn you, however, if you spend more than 45 seconds on that user page, your brain will kick out your teeth, crawl out your mouth and down your shirt, then hop a bus for Venice Beach in search of some one smart to inhabit. Fair warning.

Big in the news, as of late, is the aptly named 'Climategate.' Revealed within the last few weeks were 'hacked' emails from the 'University' of East Anglia from top climate researchers disclosing that they manipulated data to support their theory that the earth is warming. Yes, not only did climate 'scientists' cook the books in order to support their lunatic theory, but they also destroyed the original data, leaving only their 'corrected' data. Fan-fucking-tastic. And in order to ensure that Democrats would retain their unchallenged crown as the king of fucking idiots, Babs Boxer suggested prosecuting the individual(s) that disclosed this highly inappropriate behavior. Brillaint!

Liberal logic: if an individual exposes damaging information about a conservative, tobacco company, car company, gun company, etc.; it's called 'whistle blowing.' If an individual exposes damaging information about a libtard, ACORN, SEIU, global warming, universal healthcare, etc.; it's called illegal. Got it?

Turns out PeeBo is also going to make an appearance at Dopenhagen for the Climate Summit to meet with other heads of state so that they can all pat themselves on the back for how far up their asses they've collectively kept their heads on the Climategate issue.

Also, PeeBo announced his new (read: a fucking year old) strategery in Afghanistan. It was announced in a speech at West Point, the enemy camp, after dragging his ass on the deal for nearly 4 months. You see, PeeBo had to wrestle with the strategery General McCrystal requested. This would be the same strategery that PeeBo laid out during the campaign, and shortly after taking office, in order to make sure that it was the right decision. He was quick to point out the cost in dollars of this decision to surge the number of troops in Afghanistan becuase $50 Billion is a hell of a lot, especially when compared to the meager $1,300,000,000,000 (thats trillion) he flushed down the toilet in the 'anti-stimulus' package earlier this year. Yes, you see, Barack is the most brilliant man ever to walk the planet. Thank God that when he was born of his virgin birth, he chose the lowly United States to grace with his presence.

Lastly, it turns out that according to Norah O'Donnell, (the fuck kind of name is Norah?) Rosie's retarded half sister, Sarah Palin fans are uninformed on news items. It seems that they are just to darned busy to read the newspaper for 30 minutes every day (yes this ancient troll-hag actually suggested that informed people read newspapers) and are therefore uninformed. As Paul points out these 'morons' are so uninformed that they are more knowledgeable on the Climategate Scandal than anyone at Ms.NBC, as the network has yet to report on the fraud committed there. As Paul says:
Norah O'Donell at MSNBC claims that Sarah Palin supporters do not have the 30 minutes needed to read the newspaper. But, oddly enough, Palin supporters know about the "scientific" fraud going on at the IPCC and East Anglia, despite it NOT being reported in the newspapers. Maybe they get their news from the very same mysterious force that keeps telling us that the economy is "recovering?" Contradiction? You decide.

Norah, sweetheart, retire mmkay?

Summary: Conservatives Vs. Libertarians

3 Informed Opinions

Thanks to everyone who took the time to read and respond to my two posts concerning Conservatives and Libertarians. The answers ranged from the intellectually stimulating, to the comical and finally ended up somewhere in the clinically insane territory. Paul even got in on the commenting, encouraging me to eat a donut for some reason... Paul?

What I've come to realize is that even though there are countless 'issues' which separate the two ideologies, as defined by those on each side, there are far more similarities between the two, than some within the movements care to recognize.

There has been a large momentum change since the days immediately following the election, wherein libertarians and conservatives are setting aside squabbles over ideologies and uniting behind the ideal of LIMITED government, i.e. the Tea Party movement and the 9/12 march on Washington. Libertarians and Conservatives understand that they share the view of a limited government and that through working together they have the opportunity to elect a leader who can return the power of the political process from the hands of the elite in Washington to the hands of the people in the heartland.

We have to be ready to work together, but not afraid to call out fringe voices within the ideologies, lest diverted from our goal of regaining control in Washington.

As I said in the comments of a previous post; I am more than willing to have a policy debate on some of the issues that separate us into Conservative and Libertarian ideologies, once we've regained control in Washington. Until then, the focus should be singular: Limited Government, period!
